Papua New Guinea
For many Australians, Papua New Guinea, and in particular the Kokoda Track (Kokoda Trail), is a sacred place. Its infamy has been brought about by not only a history of amazing exploration, but the place that Australians stood firm and steadfast against what was once considered an unstoppable Japanese Imperial Army.
Expedition PNG by No Roads Expeditions was borne out of the desire to help as many Australians to experience the Kokoda Track as well as a desire to change the modus operandi of the expedition industry in Papua New Guinea. Expedition PNG honours the sacrifice Australian Diggers made along the Kokoda Trail, defending the ideals of a fair go, through sacrifice, courage, endurance and mateship.
These ideals run deep in the psyche of Expedition PNG. We believe a fair go should extend beyond our borders to those that we work with in other nations. That is why Expedition PNG leads the way in giving the Porters we employ and the environment we trek through along the Kokoda Trail, a fair go. Our PNG Nationals are paid, fed and treated with the dignity they deserve, providing opportunities for them and their families to look beyond a day to day existence. By walking the Kokoda Trail with Expedition PNG, you are ensuring that the ancestors of the people that helped our Diggers defend Australia, are honoured as well as the Diggers themselves.
Expedition PNG offers you numerous itineraries to walk the Kokoda Trail

A Brief History (See more by clicking here)
By July 1942, the Japanese Imperial Army had swept through Indo China, Malaysia, Singapore, Java, Rabaul and finally onto the doorstep of Australia, the north coast of mainland PNG. Determined to beat a path to Port Moresby once thwarted at Milne Bay, the Japanese headed across the Kokoda Track, southwards.
Over the next few months, the Kokoda Track (Kokoda Trail) would become the scene of bloody battles, sacrifice and heroism. The Kokoda Track would help define Australia as a nation and unite the people of PNG and its one time protector forever.
Walking the Kokoda Track (Kokoda Trail), is for many a rite of passage. Australians walk the Kokoda Trail for many reasons. Some to honour their Fathers or Grand Fathers, others to understand the sacrifice Australian Diggers made to defend their homeland and others to experience the physical and mental test of some of the most rugged terrain on earth.
Expedition PNG has an industry reputation as a leader, built up over years of operation in PNG. The experience of the Kokoda Track for many, only comes once in a life time. By walking with Expedition PNG, your Kokoda Track experience will be one that lives on as a great memory for both you and the Porters you walk with.
